Warzone Pacific will not load on Xbox patch

Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific Season 1 is now live and tens of millions of players are exploring the new Caldera map. The new update brought a myriad of new features and content to explore, but unfortunately it also comes with an equal number of issues, such as graphical texture issues and constant crashes.

And as if those issues weren't enough, Xbox owners are now reporting that the game won't even load on the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. A number of players are having trouble starting the game on Microsoft's consoles after the Warzone Pacific update, which is understandably frustrating for those who want to enjoy the new Caldera map as soon as possible.

Why Warzone Pacific is not loading on Xbox consoles and can it be fixed?

Numerous technical issues have plagued Warzone Pacific since the update across all platforms, but it seems Xbox players have been hit the hardest, as many can't even start the game.

For some, the loading screen appears and stays there, loading forever without starting the game, while for others, an error message eventually appears, titled "Connection Failed" and stating that the game is "unable to access online services".

To erase one thing first, this has nothing to do with xbox live, because since April 21 this year, you no longer need to be an Xbox Live subscriber to play free online games on Xbox consoles.

Now, when we have that crossed out, let's see what may be a problem.

Restart Warzone Pacific

Try to force close and reopen Warzone sometimes. Often brute force is a way to solve these problems, it may not work the first few times, but will eventually do the trick. If the game does not load even after trying this several times, then that is something else.

Check your internet connection

Make sure your console is properly connected to the internet, checking if other online games are working normally. If possible, use an Ethernet connection instead of a WiFi connection.

Clear console cache

Clearing the console cache completely is reported as a potential fix for the Warzone Pacific loading issue.

To do this, you will need to turn your console off and on again.

  • Turn off the console completely
  • Unplug it from the wall
  • Wait about 5 minutes
  • Plug it back in and turn it back on

This might fix some conflicting issues after the update and let you play the game.

Reinstaller Warzone Pacific

When an update as large as this introduces substantial changes, sometimes it's better to uninstall the game and then do a clean install instead of just updating the game.

Uninstall the game, clear the cache and reinstall the game.

And that's about all you can do to potentially fix the loading issues. If the problem persists, we advise you to submit a ticket to Activision support.
