As players continue to progress through the Pokémon Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl main story, more and more questions arise about how to complete the National Dex. This is the enhanced version of the Pokédex that gives players access to hundreds of other Pokémon across Sinnoh. If players want to fill it entirely, they will need to learn about the different evolution methods and items.

One of the items players will need if they want to catch all the Pokémon in Sinnoh is the Sunstone. This Evolution Stone is used to evolve two different Pokémon and can be difficult to find in Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl.

Currently, there are only two ways to get a Sunstone in Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl. The first way requires you to head to the Grand Underground and start mining the walls. Mining underground is a long and tedious process, but it's the only way to get many upgradeable stones in Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl.

On your underground map, look for the yellow spots along the walls. These are the places where you can mine. Just press A on the wall with a blip and you'll have the option to exploit it. You will need to continue until you have acquired at least one Sunstone.

The second way to get the Sunstone is to grab the Wild Solrock and see if they hold it. If they are, you can add it to your bag. Every wild Solrock is unlikely to hold one of the stones.

With the stone, you can choose to evolve Gloom into Bellossom or Sunkern into Sunflora. Both Pokémon are impossible to acquire otherwise.
