How to get Aggron in Pokémon BDSP

There are a plethora of Steel-type Pokémon in Pokémon Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl, but few are more intimidating or stronger than Aggron. The Generation III Pokemon has the Rock secondary type and can absolutely decimate teams. Players who have faced Byron's second battle in the Gym will know how strong Aggron can be against certain Pokémon.

If players wish to add an Aggron to their party, they can do so in several ways. However, both routes take some time, so players shouldn't expect to traverse Sinnoh Gyms with an Aggron by their side.

The fastest way to acquire Aggron is to go to Victory Road. Aggron can spawn just inside the entrance to Victory Road at various levels. So unless you're using Repels, you'll likely encounter an Aggron while navigating the cave. However, to trigger this encounter, you must have beaten the Pokémon League and acquired the National Dex.

You can acquire the National Dex by seeing all 150 Pokémon in the Sinnoh Dex, then talking to Professor Rowan in Sandgem Town.

If you want to train your own Aggron, you can also catch his pre-evolved forms in the Great Underground. Aron and Lairon can be captured in various caves below the surface. These caves are listed below:

  • Whiteout Cave
  • rock cave
  • Ice cave
  • glacial cave
  • Great Blugg Cavern

Aron and Lairon can spawn here, so you should have a choice between either Pokemon. If you catch an Aron at low level, you can train it to level 32 to evolve it into Lairon, then to level 42 to acquire Aggron.

These are the two ways to add an Aggron to your party in Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl.
