Ever since Rhyperior was in the original Platinum game, players have been curious how they can get their hands on the orange rock monster. Below, players can see the exact process of acquiring Rhyperior in Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl.
Get Rhyperior in Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl
To get started, you'll need to have beaten the main story and Elite Four in Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl.
You will also need to acquire the National Dex from Professor Rowan. You can only do this after completing the Sinnoh Dex by seeing all 150 Pokemon in the area.
With the National Dex, you want to go to the Resort Zone and the Combat Zone. You can get there by accessing the boat in Snowpoint City.
Once in the resort area, you can fight your way to the combat area. Don't forget to grab every Poké Ball on the ground along the way, especially on Route 228, as one of them will contain the Protector item. The object is right next to a group of trainers.
You can find Rhyhorn and Rhydon on Routes 227 and 228, right next to where the Protector is. If you catch a Rhyhorn, you will need to train it to level 42 to turn it into a Rhydon. If you already have a Rhydon, just give it the Protector item.
From there, you will need a willing business partner. Rhydon must be traded while holding the Protector in order to evolve into Rhyperior. If you don't have anyone to trade with, you're unfortunately stuck with Rhydon.
