To know the status of the servers on FF14, go to the state of the worlds official website (source). You will find all the information you are looking for on this subject!
Once on this site, choose the region in which you are located, between Europe, North America or Japan. You will then find the list of all the Worlds of this region, including yours. Next to the name of the World will be a pictogram, indicating its status:
- In use
- Under maintenance
- In partial maintenance
- Possible character creation
- Unable to create character

If it is indicated as being in maintenance, you will have to wait before being able to play! Check this site regularly to find out whether the maintenance is complete or not.
