Do you play ATLAS? The pirate MMO developed by the creators of ARK (and potentially too close to this game for the taste of some) has attracted many players wishing to discover the world of piracy. However, everything is not easy in the game of survival and in particular access to water! After our beginner's and crafting guide, here is a little tutorial to learn how to drink and find water on ATLAS.
Where can I find drinking water on ATLAS?
As mentioned in the section on character values ​​(stats) in our beginner's guide, water is a fundamental element of the game since your character will not be able to resist for long without drinking drinking water. Who says drinking water obviously means avoiding the water that surrounds you in the open sea to concentrate on that which flows in the river or that you can find in containers.
It is possible to find water in:
→ Objects such as vases (Jar) gourds (Waterskin) to buy or make and fill
→ Lakes and rivers
→ By digging in wet soil
Get water and store it
If it is easy to find a river or a lake in order to drink water, storing it is much more important in order to survive at sea or during your adventures. For this the simplest remains gourds (Waterskins) or vases (Jar) allowing you to contain fresh water. However, you won't always be able to count on your luck to find a secluded and peaceful spot with a source of fresh water to stock up on.
This is why it is important to learn how to find water in the ground. Indeed, wetlands, comprising green grass and generally shady ground, contain fresh water at depth. You will therefore have to learn to dig in order to collect water.
How to find water by digging
On paper, digging for water seems very easy. All you have to do is find the right place, dig with your hands (or a shovel) and collect the water with a container. However, ATLAS has a nice little game that will force you to be focused as you approach the goal!
Indeed, a bar will appear on your screen, asking you to place a marker on a white gauge. Depending on the situation, you will need to repeat this maneuver several times (usually three times) before you can enjoy the water. If you fail, you will be forced to start a hole again elsewhere. Conversely, if successful, you will be able to drink the water directly or store it if you have an object provided for this purpose.
Note that it is possible to dig with a tool (a shovel for example), which will increase the amount of usable water in the hole.
If some are motivated to start PvP from their first minutes of play on ATLAS, it is nevertheless important to master the basic elements of the MMO and water management is surely one of the most crucial.
