Since Tuesday, May 25, Biomutant was released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Many customization elements allow you to choose the species and class of your character.
Among these classes are the Mercenary. However, this class is not directly available in the game.

How to get the Mercenary class in Biomutant?
The Mercenary class is available as a bonus from preorder for players who pre-ordered the game, regardless of platform (PC, PS4 and Xbox One).
If you pre-ordered the game, you will have direct access to this class, without having to complete any side missions.
The Mercenary class allows you to start the adventure with two different swords. You will also have at your disposal a Katana and Short Wakizashi Blades.
If you haven't pre-ordered the game, all may not be lost since experiment 101 plans to allow access to this class through a future DLC of the game. For the moment, no official announcement has confirmed a release date for this DLC.
How to install the Mercenary class on Biomutant?
Some players are having trouble activating the class Mercenary, although they pre-ordered the game.
THQ Nordic indeed communicates on its Twitter that concerns are encountered by a large number of players, and that the team is working on their resolution:

If you are on PS5, you check that the DLC is installed correctly:
- Go to Options then to “Manage Game Content”
- If the Mercenary Class DLC is listed as "Not Installed", download the DLC
- Restart your console, the Mercenary class should be available
