If for some ATLAS is all about sailing and living the life of a sea pirate, for others the game focuses more on battles on land and crafting. If you are more of the second type, you may be wondering how to claim a territory in order to create a first camp by setting up a house. So follow our guide!
Obtain unoccupied territory
Obtaining an unoccupied territory (unclaimed) on ATLAS is relatively simple since you will simply have to find an area outside the cities and special zones and press F1 to launch the capture tool (which appears via a flag on the zoned).
If no other player has a parcel near yours, then you will receive a message confirming that this territory is free and that it will belong to you if you can defend it. The time needed to protect your area is currently 10 minutes, but if another player appears in this territory, the timer will be paused until they leave it (either by themselves or by the strength).
Steal occupied territory
It is also possible to steal territory occupied by other players if you are on a PvP server. This is also the main activity of some groups... Nothing could be simpler: you just need to find the center of the territory controlled by another person and trigger the same operation as before.
However, to be able to steal the territory already occupied by another player, the latter must not have visited the area for some time. If the latter is present at that time, he will receive a notification that his territory is under attack and will be able to defend it.
According to some, the more the area has been developed (by the presence of buildings), the longer it will take to take control. Indeed, if you take control of an area, you will also have the possibility of benefiting from the constructions present in the sector.
Therefore, if your goal is to create your small base, remember several elements:

→ Avoid stealing your first zone since the player has a high chance of returning sooner or later
→ If you have spent time on your constructions, remember to come back regularly
