How to catch the walking leaf in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

It's a new Animal Crossing: New Horizons month, which means new bugs to catch. People in the northern hemisphere can now get the walking sheet. It's one of the best looking bugs in the game and will be on display at Blathers Museum. The little guy looks like he's made of leaves, a great method of camouflage. It's only worth 600 Bells at the Nook Shop, which isn't the lowest price for a bug but doesn't exactly make it a big money maker either.

The Walking Leaf can be caught at any time of the day or night, from July to August in the Northern Hemisphere, and from January to March in the Southern Hemisphere.

If you hand it to Balthers, you will get the following dialogue. “What a fraud! What a can! The walking leaf is, in fact, the very embodiment of a lie! This master mimic looks like a tree leaf down to the smallest detail. In fact, this bug has been known to rock back and forth while walking…just so it looks like a leaf blowing in the wind! And the fake works! These insects look so much like leaves that even leaf-eating insects nibble on them! Liars liars, indeed!

So, to quickly recap:

Northern hemisphere

  • Found from July to August
  • Any time day or night
  • Can be found near trees and will be disguised as a furniture leaf
  • Worth 600 Bells

Southern hemisphere

  • Found from January to March
  • Can be captured anytime, day or night
  • Found on trees, disguised as a furniture leaf
  • Worth 600 Bells
