How to catch a beetle in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The beetle in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is definitely a bug worth catching. Not only will you need to get at least one for Blathers in order to get your Golden Bug Net, but you can also sell this little guy for 10000 Bells at the Nook Shop, making him one of the most valuable bugs in the game. As such, be sure to drop one off at the bug-hating Blathers, then use the rest to fund your real estate fantasies.

The beetle can be caught between 23 p.m. and 8 a.m., so you'll need to go out in the evening to collect it. In the northern hemisphere it will show up between July and August, while in the southern hemisphere it will be available from January to February. It can still be found on trees.

If you hand it over to Blathers, you'll get the following dialogue. “Collectors regard the beetle as a prize, thanks to its shiny metallic shell. But did you know that this bug doesn't have a nose and instead uses its antenna to detect smells? In fact, the beetle's plated antenna is quite unique and sets it apart from other beetles. But all the antennae are equally horrible in my book. »

So, to quickly recap:

  • Found from July to August
  • Can be found from 23 p.m. to 8 a.m.

  • Found on trees
  • Worth 10000 Bells
