Warzone Crashes and Restarts on Xbox After Update 1.5: How to Fix

Warzone's Mid-Season Update 1.5 is now live, but unfortunately for many players it brought more trouble than fun.

Players on all platforms are reporting that the game is borderline unplayable after the 1.5 update, but it seems Xbox owners were particularly hit with all sorts of performance and stability issues after. the update.

Warzone players on Xbox consoles are reporting crashes, restarts, freezes, black screens, and other technical issues.

If you are also experiencing these infuriating issues and are hoping to find a solution, unfortunately, the situation is rather grim, but we could still offer you some possible options that can help you at least partially alleviate some of the issues.

Let's see what can be done.

How to fix Warzone crashing and restarting on Xbox

Before we go ahead with a few possible options, we have to point out that none of them are guaranteed to work, because at the end of the day, it's clear that the update is the one causing all the problems, and it almost certainly has nothing to do with your console.

With that in mind, let's see what you can do to make sure you've tested everything on your end.

Restart Warzone Pacific

Try to force close and reopen Warzone sometimes. Often brute force is a way to solve these problems, it may not work the first few times, but will eventually do the trick.

Check the console internet connection

If possible, use an Ethernet connection instead of a WiFi connection, as the latter is unstable and often does not provide enough bandwidth for the game to run smoothly.

Be sure to test your internet connection by testing other online games on your console and seeing if they work without any issues.

Clear console cache

Completely clearing the console cache may resolve some incompatibility issues that caused the problem with Warzone Pacific after the 1.5 season update.

You will need to restart your console to clear its cache. Follow these steps:

  • Turn off the console completely
  • Unplug it from the wall
  • Wait about 5 minutes
  • Plug it back in and turn it on

This might fix some conflicting issues after the update and let you play the game.

Reinstaller Warzone Pacific

Often, big updates introduce issues caused by incompatibility or issues with old files. This can be avoided by performing a clean install of the game.

Completely remove Warzone Pacific from your console, clear the console cache, then perform a clean install of the game.

And that's about all you can do to potentially fix the loading issues. If the problem persists, we advise you to submit a ticket to Activision Support.

Follow the official Warzone Trello board for any future updates on this issue.
