However, the option to walk with a Pokémon is not available at the start of the game. In fact, some players have gone through entire games without realizing that they can take their Pokémon out of the ball and open it.
Below, a comprehensive guide will show players exactly how to see their Pokemon alongside them in Sinnoh's remakes.
Walk with a Pokemon in Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl
The first step in this process is to travel to Hearthome City. Once in the big city, you will have to go to Amity Square with a “cute” Pokémon. These are categorized as starter Pokemon, Pachirisu, Buneary, or Pikachu. Next, head to the northern part of Hearthome City to the Amity Square door and talk to the lady behind the red desk.
She'll walk you through the rules of Amity Square, which basically lets you walk with a cute Pokemon. You can choose any cute Pokemon you have in your party and walk around the park with them.
After spending time in the park, you can exit the gate and view your party screen. Now, tapping on any Pokemon will give you the option to "Walk Together". And it's not just with cute Pokemon anymore, you can do it with any Pokemon in the game.
Once you click the option, that Pokemon will appear behind you in the world. However, you can only take out one at a time, so you'll have to repeat this process if you want to see another member of your team.
