A Pure Fire type, Vulpix evolves into Ninetales. Their Alolan form wasn't included in the Sinnoh remakes, but it's actually a good thing for players looking to add a Fire-type to their team. Sinnoh is historically devoid of Fire-types, and Vulpix could be a solid addition for players who didn't choose Chimchar at the start of Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl.
Below, players can see exactly what they need to do to capture Vulpix in Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl.
Finding Vulpix in Pokémon Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl
To get started, you'll need to have completed the game and acquired Professor Rowan/Oak's National Dex. This comes after seeing all 151 Sinnoh Dex Pokémon.
With the National Dex in your possession, you can capture Vulpix. However, this can only be done if you are playing Pokemon Glitter Pearl. Vulpix is a Sparkling Pearl exclusive, which means Sparkling Diamond players cannot catch it in the wild.
If you own Sparkling Pearl and have the National Dex, you can start looking for Vulpix. The only place to spawn Vulpix is in the Great Underground. The easiest place to find the Pokémon is in Typhlo Cavern, which contains lava rivers and red rocks. However, any small cave that has lava or rocky landscapes has the ability to spawn a Vulpix.
Once you find one of these caves, you need to enter and see if it appears. If not, exit the cave and re-enter to change spawns. Just keep repeating this process until you've successfully found the Fire-type Pokemon.
