How to Find Heatran in Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl

How to Find Heatran in Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling PearlThe list of Legendary Pokémon available to catch in Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl is quite extensive and doesn't stop at Mons like Rayquaza. It extends to some lesser known legendaries, like the Fire and Steel type Heatran.

Heatran was originally introduced with Generation IV and has since become a popular Legendary. While it has notable weaknesses, having the Fire-type Sinnoh is still a bonus. However, players are somewhat confused when trying to find Heatran in the remakes. It's not without reason, as Heatran has a long process to get caught.

Players can find out how to catch the Legendary in Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl below.

The first step players will need to take is to beat the main story and the Elite Four. Next, you'll need to acquire the National Dex from Professor Rowan/Oak, which requires seeing all 151 Pokemon in the regional dex.

Once you have the National Dex, you can start the hunt for Heatran by going to the combat zone. It's a new area that opens up in the post-game. In the combat zone, you need to head north to Route 225. Here, continue northeast until you reach the survival zone.

This town contains your rival and Crasher Wake, who you will both need to talk to. After the cutscene with the two characters, you can head towards Route 226 until you see a mountain that can be climbed with Rock Climb. Use the HM then immediately head right. Once you see two trainers, turn left, then use Rock Climb again.

You will then be faced with water to use Surf on. You have to go past the house on the island and keep going until you reach land. Get off the Bidoof and keep walking until you reach Route 227. Here, equip your bike and use the ramps to reach the house. Go past the house to climb the stairs and use your bike again to cross the beam. On the other side of the beam, you'll talk to a character named Buck, who will guide you to a large cave known as Stark Mountain.

This is where Heatran is. You will have to work your way through strength puzzles in the mountain until you reach Buck again. You'll team up with him to take on double battles and eventually reach some stairs that lead to another cave. This will trigger a cutscene that sees Buck take the magma stone and run away. You must also flee Stark Mountain and return to the survival zone.

Buck will be there waiting for you and will tell you that the Stark Mountain Volcano is about to erupt due to the magma stone being taken. Now you have to go back to Stark Mountain and go inside. However, you now have the Magma Stone in your possession. In the mountain, you can again make your way through the area and return to the Magma Stone room. You should save before entering.

Inside the room, Heatran will be there surrounded by rocks and waiting for a battle. Now it's just a matter of catching the Legendary and adding it to your Pokémon Sparkle Diamond or Sparkle Pearl party.
