How to Catch Tuna in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

How to Catch Tuna in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

There are lots of different fish to catch in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, including tuna. This fish is worth 7 bells, making it a very attractive prospect for islanders.

To find the tuna, you will need to search for spawning fish at the pier. Tuna has a medium sized shadow, but this is no guarantee that you will catch it, as many fish share this shadow size. The Barreleye will be available to catch all day, from November to April in the Northern Hemisphere, and between May and October in the Southern Hemisphere.

So, to recap:

Northern hemisphere

  • Fish at the pier
  • Medium sized shade
  • Available all day
  • From November to April

Southern hemisphere

  • Fish at the pier
  • Medium sized shade
  • Available all day
  • May to October

Fish Bait is an item that will prove very useful in your quest to catch Tuna or any other fish. Be sure to bring some with you when you plan to fish, as it will make more fish.
