While many initially concluded that it was Ayaka in the leader role, story quests later revealed that was not the case. Most recently, Ayato appeared in the Genshin Impact 2.3 update character trailer for Arataki Itto; however, the video did not reveal his face.
New information points to Ayato's combat abilities
The Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit post revealed the character's possible combat role. Originally from the ngabbs website, a fan provided an accurate translation below the post in the comments section.
“The under DPS/Support is just a guess based on Ayato's flurry. The burst lasts 15 seconds with [a] 20s CD. Ayato's skill mechanics [are] not the strongest but very interesting [or] practical. The leaker doesn't know if his E gives hydro-infusion to attacks. I can only confirm that he summons a spirit like Shenhe. »
The biggest takeaway from Ayato's combat role leak is that he will gain a stack once his elemental skill is activated when attacked. This same stack will be drained using his Elemental Burst, which sees Ayato perform a dive attack towards enemies.
Additionally, the post suggested that for maximum effect of his Elemental Burst, it should be used when Ayato has three or more stacks.
Although the author of the translation stated that Ayato's stats are "subject to change", it should be noted that the character's elemental skills and mechanics are quite "interesting". Nevertheless, this recent leak corroborates previous information about Kamisato Ayato.
A few days ago, another leak revealed skeletal information for four upcoming characters that provided details about their model designs, which may have also confirmed their names.
As a result, the leak suggests that Kuki Shinobu will have a maiden model design and confirms that Ayato's model design is a grown man.
We also know from past leaks that Ayato likely has Hydro abilities. This information is supported by in-game content including two paintings inside Kamisato State, referencing the Kamisato siblings and their supposed abilities.
The painting on the left depicts a crane hovering above the snow-capped mountains, directly referencing Ayata's Cryo abilities. At the same time, the right represents the waves of the oceans, which can probably allude to the fact that Ayato could have Hydro abilities.
As for when Ayato might arrive in Genshin Impact, various leaks suggest he might arrive in a future update, possibly around April 2022. With the 2.6 closed beta period starting soon, we might expect to see more information about Kamisato Ayato and other playable Genshin Impact. characters.
