During a week of Beta, Blackout, the Battle Royale mode of Call of Duty Black Ops 4 proved to be quite impressive. Along with the jittery COD gameplay, the game features a pretty cool playing field that transforms the BR experience a bit which tends to be slow in the early game. In order to avoid constantly finding yourself in highly contested spawns (or with few loot), here is our guide to the best areas to land on Blackout.

Map legend
In green : The points marked in green are the emblematic locations of previous Call of Duty. You can usually find the best equipment there (apart from the cash desks) and in particular the level 3 armor.
In Orange : Groups of buildings (houses, shops) often very well equipped with Med-kits and ammunition. Very interesting areas for a duo or solo start.
In blue : Groups of buildings a little smaller than the previous one but offering enough loot for a solo player or even for a duo trying to avoid the conflict as soon as they land.
In pink : Usually a small loot area (single house, garage) where you will find mostly small items. Avoid dropping directly in this place.
The best loot zones
Yes, the vast majority of the time, the "large areas" (in green on our map) will be the source of the best loot (with crates) or at least the places where you will find the most weapons and items.
However, buildings (in orange or blue on our map) located outside of large areas are regularly better solutions for the following reasons :
→ They are less contested at the start of the game, making the first minutes of play less random
→ They can contain very good loot
→ Generally, a vehicle (quad, truck, helicopter) will be located nearby to move
→ They are the ideal place to set a trap for players who have had to flee the most disputed points of the game
→ Some places (like the houses around the Dock or the Lighthouse) are excellent for eliminating players and squads coming out of these particularly contested areas
In any case, it is important to note that the loots are random on Blackout, which may explain why sometimes certain areas may seem less interesting than others.
